The instant I stumbled across What the Buck’s HI-larious videos on YouTube, I knew we had to be BFF’s. What the Buck’s high-energy news clips are a totes phenom! His style is a mixture of VH1’s Best Week Ever meets The News on SNL with a dash of Perez Hilton’s venom thrown in… Except Buck is way funnier. Every time I watch this spectacle-clad cutie’s crazy clips I laugh so hard I fall right off the executive. Visit him at MySpace or YouTube where you’ll get endless rantings and ravings about Tyra, The Pussycat Dolls, Paula Abdul and Britney. Move over Jimmy Fallon, here’s comes the Buck! Love you bitch!

Tell us about your childhood. Were you always a hilarious chatterbox?
I was a very happy, silly child. I grew up in Connecticut and spent summers on Cape Cod. I had a lot of friends and was one of those kids who wanted to be friends with the cool kids and the dorks too. None of my friends liked anything that I liked. I was really into watching Gymnastics, collecting comic books and watching reruns of The Patty Duke Show. At the time, I felt like I was normal and everyone was strange for not liking these things. Looking back I was so strange. I used to put on records of West Side Story and A Chorus Line and do the entire show by myself. I was always dramatic. I would put tapes on of Gymnastics women’s floor routines and dance around the basement pretending I was landing full twisting double back flips and I would wave to the screaming crowd. I was very obsessive with things and I still am. I don’t think I was much of a chatterbox or particularly funny as a child. I may have been funny - as in unintentionally peculiar - but I was never telling jokes or being clever. I think the biggest laugh I ever got in school was in 4th grade when we were doing a math contest and I would belly dance when I got one right. I don’t know how I never got beat up!

How did you come up with the idea for What the Buck? What made you decide to do a video instead of a blog?
Well, my name is Michael Buckley and many people call me Buck. I was doing a show on the local public access station and developed a segment called What the Buck where I would do rants on celebrities. My cousin put some of them online and they had some moderate success and then I began promoting on MySpace and YouTube and it quickly went from once a month, to once a week, to four to five times a week. I thought about blogging but I honestly didn’t fancy myself much a writer and I rely more on timing and facial expressions than the actual material. I love being on camera and I love watching it back. It sounds jerky but I really make myself laugh! I also knew I wanted to develop a show for TV and what better way to pitch it then having all these clips.

You’re the 4th most watched comedian today! Congrats! How do you think you became such a phenomenon?
Some days I am number one! Believe me I track it everyday! I average 250,000 views a week which is very good so I am very proud of the following I have built for myself. I think it is so successful because I am saying a lot of the things that people are thinking. I can be very mean but I know it is all in fun. I do get quite a bit of hate mail as well from people who take me way too seriously. I say things like “Lindsay Lohan had her brain removed to lose weight” and “Beyonce gave that uglyass Oscar dress to J-Hud so she could holds snacks for later”. It’s a joke- get over it! I think I am more successful doing this that blogging because I am not afraid to show my face and really say it- as opposed to just typing bitchy things. I also believe it is so popular because I put so much work into it. I am writing 4-5 scripts each week. It is hours of work to prepare and promote. And I have really super nice teeth! People like that! Crest Whitestrips should be paying me Sponsorship money!

What were you doing before you became a YouTube star?
I graduated college w/ a degree in Psychology. I worked at a residential facility for kids with developmental disabilities for 6 yrs. Now, I work in an office but make it a point not to talk about that. It’s a normal 9-5 office job. I have no plans of quitting. It is not like I can make a living on YouTube.

Your show could be the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. You’re a genius! How do you make all these brilliant comments?
Thanks! Well it is all scripted - so I am not just standing there being so clever on the spot! I too am surprised that I am able to crank out new material each week at the expense of the same topics. I covered every single horrible episode of American Idol and I managed to make new jokes every time. It was so easy with those hacks! I have about four notebooks going at all times to write down things I find funny or potential jokes for next weeks show. It is very difficult for me to “shut off” because I am always feeling like I need to be on.

It seems like you’re a TV addict just like everyone at fredflare.com! Of all the shows, which is your fave? We’re particularly fond of Top Modz and The Search for the Next Pussycat Dolls!
My absolute favorite show is America’s Next Top Model. I get nothing but joy from Tyra Banks. She is one of my biggest targets with her whole SO WHAT if you are fat movement by day and training the next supermodels by night. This season when she came hopping out in a kangaroo costume to tell the girls they were going to Australia; I died and went to TV Heaven! Every episode of that show is awesome whereas most episodes of Idol this year were TORTURE! I liked the Pussycat Dolls- not as much as I wanted to. I think they need a better budget and more lighting for Ms. Antin! WHAT A MAN! I cannot belive they are having ANOTHER season of The Search for the Next Doll! Are they just going to keep kicking girls out?! Not like we would notice - you could throw seven drag queens up there and most people wouldn’t know the difference.

So who’s more fun to pick on: Britney or Paris?
It is way more fun to pick on Britney because there is so much material. And the thing about her is I don’t care if she drops her baby, shaves her head, and lip synchs, I just want her to dress better and stop chomping on that damn gum. She asks for it and then posts strange messages on her website saying to leave her alone and she cannot wait to meet God who may be a woman and that she is praying for us! FREAK! Paris is basically off my radar most of the time. She is too easy…..literally. I think they should all go to jail- Lohan, Spears, Hilton. They are all such A-holes!☺ But I miss Britney! Paris – I never gave a crap about.

What’s your favorite celeb story in 2007 so far?
Oh tough one! It’s been such a great year already! I got so many miles out of Sanjaya and the demise of American Idol this season. And so many Paula Abdul drunk or crazy stories that I loved! Rosie O’Donnell vs. Hasselbush on The View was awesome! It’s wrong to mention Anna Nicole but that’s all they freaking talk about on Annatainment Tonight! I guess if I had to pick one it would be Britney shaving her head. It was such a dramatic public meltdown. Sucks for her but in that moment the gays officially got their new Liza!

You always look sharp on air! What’s your style these days?
Wow! Thank - you are totally lying! Send me some clothes bitches! I am really not very stylish! I shop at Marshalls and Macys! I have like nothing that is designer except two pairs of Seven Jeans I got for ten dollars at Marshalls and one pair of women’s Dolce & Gabbana pants I got for thirty four bucks at Filene’s Basement- SIZE EIGHT! OH YEAH! My glasses are super cute; I alternate a pair of Armani, D & G and Lacoste. I wear the same shirts, ties and jackets every week! I try to throw in some t shirts underneath to mix it up and because I don’t know how to tie a tie!. In real life, I am quite a hag and always wear t shirts and jeans.

What’s in store for the future for What the Buck? A TV show? World domination? We can’t wait!
I am looking forward to the launch of my website very soon but I will always post on You Tube. I have too many loyal people watching to leave. I do have a part time gig for DirectTV on a show called The Fizz Newz- they found me on You Tube. I also sold a clip to a CW pilot that is on the fall schedule so hopefully I will be seen regularly on that. I am in discussions with people about developing a show so stay tuned! Meantime, the internet is the perfect place for me!
