Tell us about your jobs here at fredflare.com
Sammy Joe: Ever since I moved to NYC last year I would constantly check the jobs page on the site to see if there were any openings for me. In March I noticed a listing for a Buying intern and totally jumped on it! Before I knew it I was an intern and then soon after I became the Buying assistant! Dreams really do come true!! So now it's up to Lauren, Amy and I to find and create the cutest products and share them with you guys!
Joe Sammy: Ever since Sammy started interning at fredflare I've been super jealous of how much fun she has at work so I joined Shipping/Receiving and am responsible for boxing and shipping that cuteness all over the world.

How did you two meet?
Joe Sammy: Sammy came to visit her friend, who was dating one of my old roommates, and she brought me a "Cats" t-shirt. I knew I was in love! We were instantly super close and have stayed that way ever since.
Sammy Joe: Awww! Joey is so cute and has always been SO great to me. I remember the day after I moved into my brand-new apartment there just happened to be a fredflare sample sale. (Coincidence??) and I just happened to live 2 blocks from the fred headquarters. (Accident, I swear!) Of course I got up super early and made Joe go with me. At that point my bank was all messed up because of my move so Joe lent me money so I could buy supercuteness! To this day that will always be my first sweet memory of him!

Tell us about the new cuddly critter you've added to your family.
Sammy Joe: You mean Georgie Porgie Puffinstuff Root Beer Nick Lachey??? He is the sweetest Corgi puppy that ever lived and yes, that is his full name!! We just got him two months ago and he is seriously the best dog ever. His hobbies are vegging out, chasing birds, and playing with other cute doggies like Vanessa's pup Ozzy.
Joe Sammy: I've always been bothered by couples with babies who think that the world should stop and watch every time their kid blinks, but now I TOTALLY understand.  I spent the first week with him just staring and saying, "Georgie, you are SO HANDSOME!!" I'm not saying that having a dog is the same as having a child; it is a HUGE responsibility, though. It really forces you to reevaluate your limits. I never thought I'd be standing in the middle of the street cleaning up poop at 7AM, but now I don't even think twice about it. It's sad, the first time Georgie went to the bathroom outside, we got so excited! I think Sammy and I hugged. 

When you aren't busy being proud parents, what do you guys like to do?
Joe Sammy: We're both in school, so that eats up a lot of our free time. I'm planning to get my doctorate in clinical psychology, so I always have tons of reading to do. Aside from school/work/parenthood, Vegas odds are 2:1 that Sammy and I can be spotted somewhere in Williamsburg eating sushi any night of the week. We also hang out a lot with other beloved fredflare co-workers.  For some reason we've been having fredflare family screenings of “Mrs. Doubtfire” at my apartment on a weekly basis. Robin Williams really pushes the envelope... THIS MOVIE HAS IT ALL!!
Sammy Joe: Totally! Most of my days off are spent hanging with my besties, watching other amazing movies like “Teen Witch” and “Earth Girls Are Easy.” We like pretty much any flick with a makeover scene.

If we were to cast "fredflare THE MOVIE" who would play each of you and why?
Joe Sammy: I've always said that if someone were to play me in a movie that I'd want it to be Paul Rudd.  He is the handsome goofball I've always aspired to become. Is that narcissistic or self-deprecating?
Sammy Joe: I really haven't put much thought into this question at all, but I'd have to say Keri Russell. True, I look nothing like her, but I’ve always held her dear to my heart ever since the good ol’ “Felicity” days! I wish I could go back in time and tell her not to cut off her hair!!

How does it feel to be the first Employee of the Month couple??
Sammy Joe: Well, technically, we aren't really the first couple here at work… But it is pretty fun working with Joe. It kind of makes me feel like I’m a kid again. Every time I have to walk through the shipping department, I catch a glance of him and I can't help but smile and giggle!
Joe Sammy: It's also really nice 'cause it gives us an extra chance to do something sweet for each other like pack a lunch for us to share at break or something super cute like that.

Sammy Joe, Joe Sammy... explain your nicknames.
Sammy Joe: HA! Well when I started interning at fredflare there were already two other girls working here named Samantha, so I became Sammy, which was fine since it was already a nickname of mine. A few weeks into my internship I brought Joe to the Love Boat party and introduced him to everyone. The next day at work we were talking about how fun the party was and Chris was like "OMG, can we pleeeeease call you Sammy Joe?? I have always wanted to know someone named that and it totally fits you since your boyfriend's name is Joe!!" So after that it just kind of stuck.
Joe Sammy: After you were christened Sammy Joe, I just evolved into Joe Sammy… I think Chris was responsible for that one, too. I vaguely remember someone chanting, "Joe Sammy, Joe Sammy, Joe Sammy!" but that could've been anyone here, really.

Any last shout-outs??
Sammy Joe: Yes!! Thanks especially to Mom and Dad for letting me move across the country and make my dreams come true. Totally cheesy I know, but I couldn't have done any of this without them. I also want to give a special shout-out to all you crafters and craftettes for doing what you do best and making my job the most fun in the world.
